“On the 9th of February, KRCT organized a press conference in order to launch the release of its 2008 final Reports on “Human Rights Standards in the Correctional and Detention Centres” and “Human Rights Standards in the Police Holding Cells”. The report released in December 2008 has indeed been updated in order to include the recommendations issued at the end of the December 10 conference and split into two different reports – one for the Correctional and Detention Centres and one for the Police holding Cells.
The press conference had a significant impact, leading to articles in the newspapers, broadcasts on TV and radio and TV debates.
