April 14th, the Memorial Day of Survivors of Sexual Violence during the last war in Kosovo
In marking of April 14th, the Memorial Day of Survivors of Sexual Violence during the last war in Kosovo, the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo was illuminated by the “BRING BACK THE LIGHT” initiative, organized by KRCT in collaboration with the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo. This initiative represents a light that carries within it stories, lives, and profound human experiences that demand recognition and justice.
The Assembly hall was filled with the glow of candles handmade by the survivors themselves, bringing their stories of resilience and strength to the forefront. These lights represent not only the pain endured but also the unparalleled courage to break the silence, challenge stigma, and persistently demand justice.
The presence of institutional representatives at this event must be translated into concrete commitment. The voices of survivors cannot merely be heard, they must be reflected in decision-making, in legislation, and in clear actions that guarantee justice and continuous support.
Trauma has no deadline, and neither should the realization of rights. Therefore, this day reminds us of our obligation to strengthen support for survivors, to advance policies that address their needs, and to ensure that the crimes committed do not go unpunished.
We stand side by side with the survivors, in search of justice and the full truth.

14 Prilli – Dita Memoriale e të Mbijetuarve të Dhunës Seksuale gjatë luftës së fundit në Kosovë
Në shënim të 14 Prillit, Ditës Memoriale të të Mbijetuarve të Dhunës Seksuale gjatë luftës n së fundit në Kosovë, Kuvendi i Republikës së Kosovës u ndriçua nga nisma “MA KTHE DRITËN”, e organizuar nga QKRMT në bashkëpunim me Kuvendin e Republikës së Kosovës. Kjo nismë përfaqëson një dritë që mban brenda vetes histori, jetë dhe përvoja të rënda njerëzore që kërkojnë njohje dhe drejtësi.
Salla e Kuvendit u mbush me dritën e qirinjve të punuar me dorë nga vetë të mbijetuarit, duke sjellë në qendër historitë e tyre të qëndrueshmërisë dhe forcës. Këto drita nuk përfaqësojnë vetëm dhimbjen e përjetuar, por edhe guximin e pashoq për të thyer heshtjen, për të sfiduar stigmën dhe për të kërkuar me ngulm drejtësi.
Prania e përfaqësuesve institucionalë në këtë ngjarje duhet të përkthehet në angazhim konkret. Zëri i të mbijetuarve nuk mund të mbetet vetëm i dëgjuar, ai duhet të reflektohet në vendimmarrje, në ligje dhe në veprime të qarta që garantojnë drejtësi dhe mbështetje të vazhdueshme.
Trauma nuk ka afat, dhe as realizimi i të drejtave nuk duhet të ketë. Prandaj, kjo ditë na rikujton obligimin për të forcuar mbështetjen ndaj të mbijetuarve, për të avancuar politikat që adresojnë nevojat e tyre dhe për të siguruar që krimet e kryera të mos mbeten pa ndëshkim.
Ne qëndrojmë krah për krah me të mbijetuarit, në kërkim të drejtësisë dhe të vërtetës së plotë.
