Capacity Building

The Capacity Building program of KRCT is a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening the skills, knowledge, and resilience of individuals, communities, and institutions involved in addressing the needs of survivors of torture and wartime sexual violence. This program focuses on empowering survivors, training professionals, and fostering sustainable systems of support and advocacy.

OBJECTIVES

Empowering Survivors: Equipping survivors with skills and knowledge to rebuild their lives, advocate for their rights, and participate in decision-making processes.

Training Professionals: Enhancing the capacity of healthcare providers, legal professionals, social workers, and community leaders to deliver trauma-informed, survivor-centered services.

Building Sustainable Systems: Strengthening institutions and networks to create a supportive environment for survivors and ensure long-term impact.

CORE ACTIVITIES

Survivor Empowerment

  • Skill Development: Organizing workshops and training sessions for survivors on topics such as financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and advocacy.
  • Peer Support Networks: Establishing and training survivor-led groups to provide mutual support and amplify collective voices.
  • Leadership Training: Preparing survivors to take on leadership roles in advocacy efforts and community engagement.

Professional Training

  • Trauma-Informed Care: Training healthcare providers, psychologists, and counselors to deliver compassionate, effective care tailored to survivors’ needs.
  • Legal and Justice Training: Educating legal professionals, police, and judiciary members on handling cases of torture and sexual violence with sensitivity and adherence to international standards.
  • Social Work Practices: Equipping social workers and community leaders with tools to address stigma, provide psychosocial support, and advocate for survivors.

     

INSTITUTIONAL STRENGTHENING
